Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: August 21, 2026
1. Nature of the service
My Weather Gauge presents forecasts, calculations, third-party content, and observations supplied by independent personal weather station contributors. Information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or affected by sensor placement, calibration, connectivity, provider processing, maintenance, or software errors.
For supported U.S. locations, the Site may retrieve and re-display active alerts issued by the National Weather Service for the coordinates selected by the visitor. Alert colors, summaries, optional sounds, and refresh timing are supplemental Site features. They may be delayed, blocked, interrupted, incomplete, or unavailable and do not replace Wireless Emergency Alerts, NOAA Weather Radio, local emergency notifications, weather.gov, or instructions from public authorities.
Not an official warning service. The Site is not operated by or affiliated with NOAA, the National Weather Service, emergency management, or another governmental weather authority. Do not rely on it for emergency, aviation, marine, wildfire, flood, lightning, medical, job-site, property-protection, or other safety-critical decisions. Follow official alerts, local authorities, equipment limits, and qualified professionals.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. Contributor features require an authenticated account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting provider credentials and account access.
3. Forecasts, calculations, and third-party data
Forecasts and other information may be supplied by Open-Meteo, Windy, Ambient Weather, WeatherLink, Ecowitt, or other identified providers. Calculated summaries, Beaufort interpretations, activity guidance, and “best time” suggestions are informational estimates, not professional advice or guarantees. Third-party services remain responsible for their platforms and may impose separate terms, licenses, subscriptions, permissions, usage limits, attribution requirements, and availability rules. Provider names and marks identify sources and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. A connection may stop working if a provider changes its API, the contributor revokes a key, the applicable plan does not permit requested data, or a rate limit is reached.
4. Contributor authorization and responsibilities
By connecting a station, you represent that you own it or are authorized to access and share its data, that credentials are lawfully available to you, and that your contribution does not violate provider terms, law, privacy rights, or another person’s rights.
- Keep station names and approximate localities lawful, accurate, and free of addresses, contact details, or sensitive information.
- Maintain reasonable sensor placement, calibration, security, and connectivity.
- Do not submit fabricated, manipulated, dangerous, infringing, deceptive, or malicious data.
- Make a station private or disconnect it promptly if you lose authority to share it.
5. Sharing choices and contributor license
Contributors choose Private, Unlisted, or Public visibility. When Unlisted or Public is selected, the contributor grants My Weather Gauge a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to retrieve, cache, normalize, format, display, transmit, and technically adapt shared readings and contributor-supplied labels only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the shared-station feature. The license ends when the station is made private or disconnected, except for limited backup, security, legal, and already-distributed copies outside reasonable control.
6. Advertising, sponsorships, and affiliate links
The Site may later display clearly labeled advertisements, sponsored material, or affiliate links. My Weather Gauge may receive payment for an ad impression, click, referral, purchase, or sponsored placement. Commercial relationships do not guarantee a favorable review, recommendation, forecast, ranking, or safety assessment. Advertising does not constitute an endorsement, warranty, or representation that a product or service is suitable for a visitor.
Material connections will be disclosed clearly and near the affected content as described in the Advertising Disclosure. Visitors remain responsible for evaluating advertiser claims, prices, terms, privacy practices, and suitability.
7. Moderation and acceptable use
The Site may limit, suspend, remove, de-index, or refuse content or access to protect users, comply with law or provider requirements, address security or abuse, enforce these Terms, or preserve service integrity. You may not interfere with the Site, evade limits, probe or exploit security, collect credentials, scrape at harmful volume, impersonate another person, violate data-provider rights, use the Site unlawfully, or misrepresent community readings as official information.
8. Intellectual property
The Site’s original design, software, text, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of contributor data, third-party data, provider marks, or Site intellectual property. Personal access does not authorize resale, bulk extraction, removal of attribution, or creation of a competing database.
9. External links and transactions
The Site may link to advertisers, affiliates, data providers, or other third parties. My Weather Gauge does not control their content, availability, products, terms, privacy practices, fulfillment, refunds, or security. Any transaction is between the visitor and the third party unless expressly stated otherwise.
10. Availability and changes
Features, providers, sharing options, advertising relationships, and data fields may change, be suspended, or be discontinued. Revised Terms will show a new effective date and, when appropriate, renewed contributor consent will be requested. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE AND ALL DATA, GUIDANCE, CONTENT, AND LINKS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR CONTINUOUS AVAILABILITY. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MY WEATHER GAUGE AND ITS OPERATORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, ADVERTISERS, AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS OR DATA, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON WEATHER INFORMATION, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, ADVERTISING, TRANSACTIONS, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS. APPLICABLE LAW MAY LIMIT THIS SECTION.
13. Governing law, disputes, and contact
My Weather Gauge is operated by Karnig Ventures. To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a claim, contact Webmaster@KarnigVentures.com with a concise description of the dispute and requested resolution so the parties can attempt an informal resolution. Nothing in this section limits a consumer right or forum that cannot lawfully be waived. Notices, privacy requests, accessibility feedback, advertising questions, and station reports may also be submitted through the Contact page.
14. Alert-delivery limitations
Optional sounds and device notifications are supplemental conveniences. The current implementation checks for new alerts while the Site is open; it is not a guaranteed background or closed-app push service. Browser permission, device settings, connectivity, operating-system restrictions, and service availability can prevent or delay delivery.
